What’s Cooking, May/June 2024
Summer is on the way and we’ve got plenty of grab and go so昀琀 drinks
and snacks for picnics, fes琀椀vals, BBQs and more, as well as a range of
light bites, great for pairing with a summer salad.
Also, look out for great deals on jelly, Angel Delight and ice cream in this
issue – great for whipping up cool and hydra琀椀ng summery desserts!
Gluten-free
May is Coeliac Awareness month – so we recommend you try the
selec琀椀on of gluten-free cakes we have on o昀昀er from The Handmake
Cake Company on page 6 and the gluten-free pizza bases from White
Rabbit on page 28, to expand your gluten-free op琀椀ons. And when it
comes to gluten-free snacks, the Metcalfe’s rice cakes and popcorn on
page 10 are a great go-to!
So昀琀 drinks
Why not expand your non-alcoholic range? With a 昀椀昀琀h of under25s choosing to live alcohol-free, there's a growing demand for
delicious drinks this Summer season. Look out for DASH water on
page 3, Cawston Press cans on page 4, Lipton Iced Tea on page 16, and
Fen琀椀man’s botanical so昀琀 drinks (as shown on the cover) on page 41,
for popular summer drinks.
Light bites and summer dining
With a third of shoppers interested in following a vegetarian diet,
consider how you can cater for them over the coming months. We have
great o昀昀ers on McCain Halloumi Fries, Rus琀椀c Sweet Potato Wedges and
Skin-on Thin Cut Fries – all on page 27.
Then there are ten di昀昀erent Moving Mountains plant-based products on
o昀昀er on page 29 – these are well worth a try if you’re looking to serve
up a selec琀椀on of new plant–based dishes this summer, including plantbased brunch pa琀es, frankfurters and hot dogs.
